Two patients developed a transient elevation of INR due to an interaction between cisplatin and warfarin [routes not stated].
A 50-year-old woman was hospitalised with ovarian cancer, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), renal thrombosis and cerebellar thrombosis. Treatment for DIC and DVT was commenced with warfarin and heparin, and she underwent surgery for ovarian cancer. Following surgery, she received two 4-week cycles of cisplatin 60 mg/m 2 on day 1 of each cycle and irinotecan. DVT treatment was continued with warfarin 3.25 mg/day for 3 weeks.
