In a retrospective study, 5 patients, (4 females and 1 male), aged 18-76 years*, developed drug-induced liver injury and persistent hepatocellular secretory failure (PHSF) during treatment with clavulanic acid [clavulanate], estradiol [oestradiol] or flucloxacillin [dosages and routes not stated; not all indications and durations of therapies to reactions onsets stated].
Patient B: A 53-year-old woman was started on antibiotic treatment with flucloxacillin. Subsequently, 1 week after the 3 week cycle, she developed flucloxacillin-induced liver injury, bile duct injury, jaundice and pruritus. Her laboratory tests showed bilirubin of 565 μmol/L, ALP of 347 U/L, GGT of 23 U/L, AST of 70 U/L and ALT of 55 U/L.
