A 59-year-old man experienced mild parkinsonian features during treatment with olanzapine. Additionally, the man developed ictal catatonia following clozapine and olanzapine withdrawal.
The man with bipolar disorder, was receiving clonazepam and olanzapine [routes and dosages not stated]. He was admitted to a hospital, five days after he fell and sustained a head injury. On admission, he was confused, disoriented and verbally aggressive. Two days post admission, his ongoing medications clozapine and olanzapine were withheld. However, a week after admission, he became increasingly withdrawn and developed a catatonic state [durations of treatments to reactions onsets not stated]. He was observed to be stunned...
