A 50-year-old patient [sex not stated] developed increased blood levels of clozapine secondary to a pharmacokinetic interaction between clozapine and mirtazapine resulting from their concomitant administration [routes not stated].
The patient was admitted for chronically decompensated schizophrenia with hallucinations and anxio-delusional resurgence. The patient subsequently started receiving multiple medications, including clozapine [initial dosage not stated]. The dose was gradually up-titrated to attain a dose of 700 mg/day. The mean blood concentration of clozapine was maintained at 879.8+202.9 ng/mL for an average dose of 600+81.6 mg/day (mean concentration/dose ratio 1.47)....
