J. R. R. Tolkien's epic, The Lord of the Rings, was originally intended to be a single volume but overflowed into the well-known trilogy. Code Quality, the second book by Diomidis Spinellis, reminds me of J. R. R. Tolkien because it is an epic and because, like Tolkien's trilogy, it is really a continuation of Spinellis' first book, Code Reading. I enjoyed this second book, Code Quality, so much that I can only hope that Spinellis has a third volume in the works, because he's on a roll.
In the foreword, Robert Glass set just the right tone when he wrote: "In my own (highly biased) view, management level discussions of quality come close to being worthless, because the factors that make up...
