Does your brand make the grade?
UNLIKE DRUGS, dietary supplements aren't required to undergo rigorous testing before they can be put on the market-which means there's no way of knowing whether a particular brand is of good quality, or even honest in its label claims.
But a new website, ConsumerLab.com, is now subjecting different brands of dietary supplements to laboratory analyses-and posting the results on the Internet.
A supplement might be tested to see whether it meets its label claims for the amount of active ingredients in a pill and whether a day's suggested dose...
