This truly contemporary work, encompassing not only entries for herbs and spices but also herb and spice blends, is not both a wonderful reference book but a cookery book and a work of love. Its author, Tony Hill, is a self confessed "spice merchant" and describes himself as a "modern day Marco Polo" travelling the world in search of adventure and knowledge in order to recreate exciting tastes with the many herbs and spices his travels reveal.
