Abstract: The newspaper article addresses - based on the author's personal expertise - "the chronology" of the criminal activity from the moment of taking decision until committing the crime, emphasizing on the modus operandi as a stamp of the offenders' personality

`Criminal activity is a structural functional system of acts which interfere to the order of natural, social or ideal events with the aim of changing it according to the set of essential, capability, specific, psychological and moral features of the offender.
Dynamic criminology or act criminology brings together non-cause explanations concerning the criminal conduct. They have been labelled by Edwin Sutherland as "situational" or "dynamic mechanisms", because they only take into consideration "the elements in play at the moment of committing the crime".
Criminal activity brings together the mechanisms and processes which accompany the act - the interference to the order of natural, social or ideal events with the aim of changing it according to the set of essential, capability, specific, psychological and moral features of the offender.
The elements of criminal act refers both to the itinerary of the offender and the actual interference to the material object, as well as to identifying the special features of the act seen as a whole ("iter criminis" and the actual act). When referring to cases with unidentified perpetrators and in order to identify them, the criminal activity should be structured on the following elements: iter criminis, modus operandi and punctum saliens, each of them having a certain conventional structure.
Iter criminis
Iter criminis is one of the elements of criminal act. The itinerary of the offender starts at the same time with the criminal resolution, it continues with the preparation and execution phase, up to the crime consumption.
