Abstract

Our Commission argues that an important way to address this isolation is to show that culture is not only about national allegiance or ethnicity, but also about shared, taken-for-granted practices. The tendency of clinicians to focus--and be rewarded for focusing--on biomedicine to the detriment of human wellbeing is, therefore, also cultural.
