The main thesis of Dave Collins' comprehensive book on designing object-oriented user interfaces is that when all members of a software design team speak the same language, better software results. Targeting software design teams as his audience, Collins champions object-orientation as the common design language.
The book is divided into an introduction and three parts followed by two appendixes, a glossary, a bibliography, and an index. Each chapter ends with a summary, suggestions for further reading, and exercises. As the author advises, this book is most effective if you consult it in the context of a design effort. Many of his exercises point the reader in this direction.
