A study identified four male and two female critically ill patients with heart disease, aged 1 month to 3 years, who developed rebound hypertension or rebound tachycardia after withdrawal of dexmedetomidine, and one 3-month-old who developed an accelerated junctional rhythm leading to haemodynamic instability while receiving dexmedetomidine treatment.
