A 56-year-old woman developed headache and face paraesthesia due to intraventricular migration of dimeticone [silicone oil] following it's administration for retinal detachment [dosage and duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated].
The woman presented with an acute onset of headache and face paraesthesia. A non-contrast brain CT scan raised a suspicion of intraventricular haemorrhage. At presentation, she was hypertensive and hypoglycaemic [unknown aetiology]. She was admitted. A subsequent CT angiography revealed non-dependent globular hyper-dense foci within the frontal horns of both lateral ventricles and hyper-density within the vitrea of the left eye and along the course of the left optic nerve and chiasm. However, no vascular abnormalities were seen....
