A 44-year-old woman developed increased heart rate and oxygen consumption during treatment with dobutamine. The woman who was diagnosed with neurogenic stunned myocardium after a right hemispheric stroke was started on treatment with dobutamine 416 pg/min to achieve a comparable cardiac output and mixed venous oxygen saturation [route not stated]. Subsequently, her heart rate and oxygen consumption increased. Therefore dobutamine therapy was progressively weaned off over 72 hours [time to reactions onsets and outcomes not stated].
