Early American Newspapers, a subset of the America's Historical Newspapers database, is a series of newspaper collections from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with coverage dating back to 1690. The Early American Newspapers collection contains over 2,000 newspapers of historical importance, both at the national and the local level, including the Pennsylvania Gazette, New York Herald, Boston Herald and Times-Picayune. Each series in the collection covers a different time span, and series can be selected individually or in combination to build a collection best suited to the needs of each institution's users. While the first series, covering the years from 1690-1876, is complete, additions to the other series are ongoing. There is also an option available to add collections by decade or era, rather than by the specific series, which presents the opportunity to further tailor the collection for the needs of an institution's researchers.
