Rural tourism in Eastern Serbia should contribute to the preservation of the rural environment and cultural heritage, but also to economically motivate local residents to remain in the villages. The aim of this paper is to point out that rural tourism on the concept of sustainable development wchich may be the most important component of the revitalization of villages in eastern Serbia.
