Abstract:
Introduction. The issue of sex education among young people is a major problem not only for civil society but also for medical staff, given that Romania ranks third in terms of unprotected sex in one year, according to the 'Emergency Contraception Study' .The realization of an education campaign among young people must be based on the knowledge of good practices worldwide but also of the particularities of our country.
Material and method. To highlight the knowledge about contraception, a study was conducted using a promotional campaign, using as a research tool, the questionnaire, which was applied to people aged 14-24, in high school and first year of university. The questionnaire contains 31 questions and was submitted online via the Google Forms platform.
Results. The analysis of the data collected, following the completion of the questionnaires, showed that: 45.16% of respondents have knowledge about contraceptive methods, the most known and used contraceptive methods are condoms (58.06%) and birth control pills (11, 83%), 79.57% of those surveyed know the method of emergency contraception. 89.25% of those interviewed know that birth control pills are used after consulting a specialist and can be purchased from the pharmacy, 98.92%. Of the unconventional methods of contraception, the best known is the calendar method, 73.12%
Conclusions. These results indicate that sex education is still under-addressed, and contraception is still a taboo subject.

Introducere. Problema educaţiei sexuale în rândul tinerilor reprezintă o problemă majoră nu doar a societăţii civile ci şi a personalului medical, în condiţiile în care România ocupă locul al treilea în ceea ce priveşte relaţiile sexuale neprotejate, într-un an, potrivit Studiului 'Emergency Contraception Study'.Realizarea unei campanii de educaţie, în rândul tinerilor trebuie să se bazeze pe cunoaşterea bunelor practici la nivel mondial dar şi a particularităţilor din ţara noastră.
Material şi metodă. Pentru evidenţierea cunoştinţelor privind contracepţia s-a realizat un studiu cu ajutorul unei campanii de promovare, utilizând ca instrument de cercetare, chestionarul, care a fost aplicat persoanelor cu vârsta cuprinsă între 14-24 ani, din învăţământul liceal şi anul I universitar. Chestionarul cuprinde 31 de întrebări şi a fost transmis în mediul online prin intermediul platformei Google Forms.
