Abstract

Abstract: This article presents the results of a study that aims to determine whether there is an effect of the characteristics and stressors associated with teleworking on teleworkers' job exhaustion and satisfaction, and their impact on organizational performance. To this end, surveys have been applied to workers of port companies in the Bío-Bío region of Chile who carry out telework to carry out all or some of their functions within their organization. The results of the analysis of structural equations indicate that the work-home conflict and especially work overload influence the exhaustion of telework, while job satisfaction is only affected by the work-home conflict, being this satisfaction the one that ultimately affects performance of the organization. Keywords: Telework; Stressful factors of telework; Telework-exhaustion; Job satisfaction, Organizational performance. 1.
