A 65-year-old man developed hypothyroidism during treatment with lithium [lithium carbonate]; and hyperparathyroidism and nephrogenic diabetes insipidus following lithium, enalapril and verapamil interaction [Not all routes, dosages and durations of treatment to reactions onset stated]
The man, who was started on treatment with lithium 900 mg daily, 24 years ago, for bipolar disorder, developed hypothyroidism after 8 years of lithium treatment. He received levothyroxine sodium and after 2 months he became euthyroid.
