Remote sensing is a scientific discipline that uses instruments on satellites and numerous other platforms to examine the surface and atmosphere of the Earth. It is a field which has reference to many earth science, atmospheric science and environmental disciplines. As such, an encyclopaedia in this field has broad appeal across these sectors. This review considers the print hardback encyclopaedia, although an online version is available as well.
