Endogenous knowledge: research trails, ed. by Paulin J. Hountondji
Paulin Hountondji is one of the leading philosophers in SubSaharan Africa and has been affiliated with the National University of Benin since 1972. He has edited this collection of papers and discussions by his colleagues from a 1987 research seminar organized for master's degree students in Philosophy and Sociology at the National University of Benin, and has written the introduction, which challenges the validity of the concept of "traditional knowledge." The book is part of the CODESRIA Book Series published by the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa, one of the leading Pan-African scholarly organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa, which disseminates research by African scholars in its book and monograph series, working papers, and quarterly bulletin.
