Being a part-time Webmaster as well as technical writer, I try to keep up on HTML-related news whenever I can. However, when I first heard about Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) three or four years ago, I mildly cringed. This had much more to do with my occasional fear of the unknown than anything else. Like most of the users I write my manuals for, I get used to the old and comfortable ways of doing things instead of looking ahead for easier and better ways of getting tasks done. And once I read another Eric Meyer book about CSS (Cascading Style Sheets: The definitive guide, O'Reilly, 2000; reviewed in the May 2001 issue of Technical communication), I felt at least comfortable with them.
When I first looked at this book, I was very much impressed with its layout. There are lots of beautiful and clear examples, along with well laid-out pages. Chapters consist of various CSS projects, such...
