Politicians often complain that the voters do not appreciate the vast scope of the work done by the European Union. Eurojargon may suggest one reason for this lack of appreciation. It lists 5,200 acronyms, abbreviations and specialised terms used in the EU: this number is said to be 25 per cent greater than that in the previous edition (RR2001/32) and the dictionary is now in its seventh edition.
