Abstract With 35 different ecological types of cucumber germplasm resources as test materials, the soxhlet extraction was used to extract the crude fat from the cucumber seeds to analyze the seed oil content, with the aim to lay foundations for the application and new variety breeding related with cucumber seed oil. The results showed that there were significant differences in seed oil content between different cucumber varieties with the amplitude of variation rangeing from 31.03% to 40.59%, among which the seed oil content of south China cucumber was the highest of 40.59%, while the seed oil content of north China cucumber was the lowest of 31.03%. Four varieties with oil content of greater than 38.50% and four varieties with oil content of less than 32.01% were screened out.

As a kind of seed rich in oil, cucumber seed contains a large number of human essential fatty acids, including oleic acid, linoleic acid, stearic acid and on [1], and is also rich in a variety of human essential trace elements, such as Ca, P, K, Zn, Fe [2], making it have important development and utilization value. After contacting with skin, cucumber seed oil can change the nutritional status of the skin, accelerate blood circulation, and promote the redox reaction of skin. The cosmetics made from cucumber oil have good effects on the prevention and treatment of acne, whelk, senile plaque, freckles, rough skin and wrinkles131. The development and utilization of cucumber oil can open up a new way for the research and development of natural cosmetics. In addition, cucumber seed oil can be used as a green food additive141, which also has broad development prospects. At present, the seed oil content of single cucurbites varieties has been detected and analyzed at home and abroad. WANG et al.[5] obtained the fixed oil of cucumber seed by using microwave-assisted extraction method, and the maximum output was 43.00% . With dry cucumber seeds as raw material, the oil yield using Soxhlet solvent extraction could reach up to 40.38%[61. The maximum output of cucumber seed oil using ultrasonic microwave synergistic extraction was 30.88% m. On the other hand, supercritical carbon dioxide extraction technique...
