Hi, does your community have a street level fascist presence or other significant social problem? Perhaps this will help you identify your community's problems and give you some ideas for confronting them.
Let's start by explaining what fascism is-the ideology a fascist identifies with or a type of behavior that they exhibit. Although fascists claim to be anti-capitalist, fascism is a social order that believes in maintaining class divisions at all costs. That is, the rich and the poor must exist forever in order to maintain the privileges of those at the top of society. To gain support, fascism typically has a strong sense of nationalism, usually racial nationalism. That means putting the interests of the rulers of your country or your 'race' above the interests of all others. Along with the concept of maintaining society's inequalities, fascism is often openly racist, sexist, and homophobic. By politicizing these prejudices, fascists seek to play on the fears of sections of society that they see as potential allies.
In the US and Canada, the street level fascist typically appears as a Neo-Nazi, Ku Klux Klansman, or other white supremacist group.
