A 28-year-old man developed Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) following treatment with furosemide for cardiomyopathy.
The man was hospitalised with possible SJS on day 0; cardiomyopathy had been diagnosed about 4.5 months earlier, and furosemide 40mg daily [route not stated] and enalapril were started 135 days preceding hospitalisation. A rash developed 50 days before admission. On day -40, a red, pruritic, papular skin rash was observed on his arms and chest; steroids were initiated.
