This excellent anthology covers the history and cultural politics of Philippine film and film in the Philippines. Rolando Tolentino has amassed a broad cross-section of authors, gathering a diversity of approaches and themes in one volume. Contributors come from a wide range of backgrounds and their chapters have seen publication in journals including Third Text and Diliman Review. Bringing together the nationally published writing and interpretation of film and cultural politics with interventions published in more "internationally" recognized venues, Tolentino sets up an important dialogue.
