A 43-year-old woman developed malignant melanoma during treatment with glatiramer acetate [Copaxone].
The woman who had a history of multiple sclerosis was on treatment with SC glatiramer acetate 20mg daily injections. A malignant melanoma was revealed in the biopsy of the cutaneous lesion over the right Achilles tendon. She underwent a wide local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsy.
