Recent visits by members of the GMC education committee to the United Kingdom's 25 medical schools to monitor progress o curricular change and development have proved to be informative.
In 1993 the GMC published Tomorrow's Doctors , a new initiative to improve and update medical undergraduate teaching to the next millennium. With the cooperation of all British medical schools the scheme is presently being implemented. The GMC education committee, led by Professor Charles George, aims to visit all medical schools twice by the year 2001.
