An 11-year-boy developed immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) during treatment with risperidone and guanfacine.
The boy, with a history of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and bipolar disorder, presented with October 2015 with a 3 week history of bruising, cold intolerance, decreased appetite and fatigue. He had a platelet count (PC) of 3 Gi/L and a diffuse petechial rash that presented a day before. Upon presentation, his PC was confirmed to be 9 Gi/L. His previous complete blood cell count taken in May 2013 revealed a PC of 84 Gi/L....
