Abstract

Wilhelm Haarmann, a founding partner of German law firm Haarmann Hemmelrath, has decided to leave the firm after internal disagreements about its future direction. In its last financial year Haarmann Hemmelrath made fundamental structural and strategic changes after a majority vote of its partners. In particular, the firm changed its so-called eat-what-you-kill policy to a lockstep system of remuneration, whereby profits are shared according to seniority.
