Seattle Shakespeare is the little company that could. While those who work at SSC are admirably energetic and enthusiastic, many of their productions are maddeningly inconsistent and are often marred by directorial concepts that force a play into contradictions. John Langs's production of Hamlet, the opening play in SSC's 2010-2011 season-its 20th-was at times brilliant, including some intriguing doubling. However, in trying so hard to be original, Langs also made some puzzling choices.
