THE HARPERCOLLINS BOOK OF NEW INDIAN FICTION is a pleasure to read, whether on the beach, in an airplane, or, possibly, as a classroom text. The contributors range from newcomers to those who have published widely, both in India and abroad, and have won prizes for their work. The thirteen stories are of varying styles.
