Holy Tango is more than a parody of an anthology of poetry and prose. It is a laugh-out-loud humorous tutorial on poetry. Answering such questions as "Is a sperm like a whale?" (anagram of William Shakespeare), Francis Heaney takes anagrams of famous poets and dramatists and rewrites their famous works in the exact meter and style of the original.
Heaney leaves no genre unparodied. Borrowing from pop culture, Heaney retells some of society's favorite stories. In "I Reuse Dip" (Euripides), Heaney narrates Seinfeld's George Costanza's infamous chip-double-dip-at-the-funeral saga in tragic form, complete with a chorus. Famous films also get mocked. In "Dammit, Dave" (David Mamet), Heaney replays the scene between astronaut Dave and Hal 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey. In "Horrid...
