This Italian version of the Tristan story is here published for the first time. It is considerably longer than the better-known Tristano Riccardiano (first edited by Parodi (Bologna, 1896), and recently re-edited by A. Scotari (Genu, 1990). The Tristano Veneto is only to be found in one manuscript, Vienna, Osterreichische Nationalbibliothek, MS 3325, dated 1487, and is a late copy of an Italian translation, from the linguistic evidence made not later than the beginning of the fourteenth century in Venice.
