ABSTRACT

Tremendous amount of energy goes wasted when a company stores its data on computers by its constant running because it does not use its full potential for storage and software use. But with the help of cloud computing various companies can share the software and save around companies utility cost up to 90% by saving the energy consumption up to 95%.Morever cloud computing can reduce carbon emission by 30- 90%. Companies by adopting cloud computing technique will accrue the inherent business benefit of this technology.

I. Introduction Cloud is a new technology for the intent of sharing distributed resources and coordinated problem solving, distinguished from conventional distributed computing by its focus on large-scale resource sharing, innovative applications and high-performance orientation.

"Cloud Computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction."

The Green Grid is a group of IT corporations and performers who envision reducing the consumption of energy at cloud computing centers across the world.

Both cloud computing and sustainability emerges as transformative trends in business and society. Most consumers (whether they are aware of it or not) are already users of cloud- enabled services, including electronic mail, social media, online game, and many mobile applications.

Cloud providers are more likely to take an active role in tailoring hardware components to the specific needs of the services they run. By collaborating with suppliers on specification and design of servers and other equipment for maximum efficiency, they realize benefits that are too complex for most corporate IT departments to address.
