INAS 310 relocated at Porbandar

Abstract

The squadron, equipped with HAL-built Dornier 228 maritime reconnaissance aircraft, flew out of its previous base, Indian Naval Station Hansa, Goa-Dabolim, en masse on 29 September to its new home at INS Sardar Patel, Porbandar on the northern Gujarat coast. The squadron was first of the Indian Navy to operate the Dornier 228, since August 1991, and after some years was designated as an 'Information Warfare Squadron', with some of the aircraft equipped with electronic surveillance measures (ESM) and other advanced systems.
