Fat Studies is the latest special subject in cultural sciences. It made its way up from streets and social movements into academic halls and courses.1 Jason Whitesel takes a look at a special group of fat men, the proud obese minority withinor without?the Gay Community. Enforced Discrimination of obese persons and homosexuals by psychiatry and society had started at the same time, in 1880s. Since then, an ideal of skinniness dominates in the Western world and also within the gay community. So, Big Gay Men are subjects of a double discrimination by society and the majority of homosexuals.
