This is an ambitious attempt at a trinitarian ecological theology. Edwards grounds this theology in the wisdom and christological traditions of the Bible, the trinitarian theology of Richard of St. Victor and Bonaventure, and contemporary cosmology. Influenced by the interaction of the three contemporary movements of selfconsciousness and human rights, feminism, and ecoharmony, he relies heavily on the insights of theologians like Zachary Hayes, Elizabeth Johnson, Sally McFague, and Rosemary Radford Ruether. He divides his work into two major parts. In the first, he analyzes wisdom christology as an avenue into ecology theology. In the second, he shows how wisdom christology actually provides an ecological understanding of the Trinity.
