Abstract

Overactivated microglia cells can produce pro-inflammatory factors, nitric oxide, and reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can damage the BBB and induce neuron damage [14]. In endothelial cells, recombinant human HMGB1 elicited pro-inflammatory responses, which subsequently resulted in an increase of vascular permeability, cell swelling, and disruption of BBB [15]. BBB integrity by Evance Blue staining was investigated in our previous article [17]. [...]in this study, we focused on the ultrastructure of BBB observed using electron microscopy and tight junction proteins determined by WB. [...]TH has been speculated to play some important roles in the pathophysiology of PD [19]. [...]promoting the proliferation of TH-positive cells would help in the prevention and treatment of PD. PSD95, which is highly expressed in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and striatum, is an important molecule on the postsynaptic membrane that plays a pivotal role in learning and memory formation [20].
