Abstract
The present article approaches the impact of the maa culture in Colombia at a political and judicial level. Its main axes are, substantially, that the maa culture is based upon a traditional and charismatic political culture, and that since this type of culture is the prevalent political culture in Colombia, the maa culture is a constituent part of our national identity. The paper reconstructs the different perspectives, empirical and theoretical, that have tried to give an account of this maa culture in the country.
