Abstract

The investigation is about the spontaneous pronunciation of sports commentators from 20 radio stations —one for every capital of Spanish-speaking countries— as heard on the internet. The pronunciation of the commentators is differentiated according to a taxonomy based on qualitative and quantitative data related to the phonemes and their phonetic variations. The classification starts with three principal variants of pronunciation: alpha (no differentiation of θ /s, no aspiration of implosive s); beta (no differentiation of θ /s, aspiration of implosive s); and gamma (differentiation of θ /s, no aspiration of implosive s).

Se investiga la pronunciación espontánea de comentaristas deportivos de 20 estaciones de radio —una por cada capital de los países hispanohablantes— recogidas por internet. Se hace una diferenciación de la pronunciación de esos comentaristas. Se plantea una taxonomía basada en datos cualitativos y cuantitativos relacionados con los fonemas que se recogieron y sus variantes fónicas. La clasificación se inicia con tres grandes variantes de pronunciación: alfa (no diferenciación θ / s, no aspiración de s implosiva); beta (no diferenciación θ / s, aspiración de s implosiva); y gama (diferenciación θ / s, no aspiración de s implosiva).
