A male neonate developed fetal hydantoin syndrome with hypoplastic left heart syndrome after in utero exposure to phenytoin and lamotrigine. His mother had received antiepileptic therapy with phenytoin and lamotrigine throughout her pregnancy [routes and dosages not stated]. Post-operative complications occurred; support was withdrawn, and he died [cause of death not stated]. His twin sister had fetal hydantoin syndrome without congenital heart disease.
