We often play a secondary role in an androcentric world. We are subject to the demands of socially constricted roles that tell us what to do, when to do it, and how it should be done. Who are we? We are women across every culture, race, and socioeconomic level. These statements may berate one's conscience and in an uneasy and uncertain manner, but they are statements that clearly hold true given the inequality between men and women in much of today's society. Certainly, in some circumstances, there is equality among men and women but let us consider the broader reality of our present circumstances. Lectures on the Psychology of Women, edited by Joan C. Chrisler, Caria Golden, and Patricia D. Rozee displays a strong collection of feminist writings of broad interests, views, and cultural differences that reflect the great diversity of women today.
