The International Certification Board - or ICB - was established as an entity to oversee programs determined to need certification. The ICB establishes policies, standards and procedures for certification programs via particular bureaus. One of those bureaus is the Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Bureau (TABB). TABB establishes and directs an international certification program for technicians, supervisors and contractors engaged in testing, adjusting and balancing of all building environmental systems. Currently, the ICB is made up of eight members. Two of which we will meet today.
Ken Senteney
Kenneth Senteney of Superior Air Handling Corporation in Clearfield Utah has been in the HVAC business for 33 years. Growing from a small family owned HVAC shop in 1948 to a company with 264 employees, Superior is affiliated with SMACNA Utah and SMWIA Local 312. Senteney earned a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering in 1964 and a Masters degree in business in 1967. From there, he took advantage of an opportunity to combine his interest in business management with his love of building by accepting a position with University Mechanical and Engineering Contractors to manage their sheet metal shop in 1972.
Superior, which relocated to Clearfield Utah in 1967, has been an employee-owned company since 1997 when 30 employees, over half of whom are members of the SMWIA, bought the company from EMCOR group. Superior produces a full range of ductwork under roof in its 120,000 square foot fabrication facility and earns annual revenues of over 40 million dollars.
