An 18-year-old boy with major depression developed manic switch and serotonin syndrome after paroxetine therapy was augmented with methylphenidate.
The boy had been receiving paroxetine 20mg augmented with methylphenidate 10mg [durations not clearly stated, and frequencies and routes of administration not stated].
