This volume, part of a series devoted to analyzing the Semitic background of the NT, is devoted to various passages in Mark that have given commentators difficulties because of the linguistic "anomalies" in the Marcan text. The two authors are instrumental to this long-range project based in Madrid; M. Herranz Marco is its director, and J. M. Garcia Perez is on the editorial board. M. completed his dissertation on a similar topic in 1977. It appeared twenty years later in the same series, as Huellas de Arameo en los Evangelios y en la catequesis Cristiana primitiva (Studia Semitica Novi Testamenti 5; Madrid: Ciudad Nueva, 1997). The present volume is basically a continuation of that earlier work.
