THIS BOOK addresses a wide variety of issues facing diverse Asian American communities which are often stereotyped as one big asian community from the non-Asian Americans through the TV network's treatment of Asian Americans in the UCLA Film and Television Archive from the 1950s to the present in the United Sates. As indicated in the preface of the book, the author presents "the material reasons for the symbolic social subordination of Asian Americans on television" (p. ix, 1994). His attempts are achieved.
