MUHAFAZAKÂRLIĞIN KIYISINDABİR KEMALİZM DEĞERLENDİRMESİ: “TÜRK İNKILÂBINA BAKIŞ LAR”

Abstract

Peyami Safa, Türk düşüncesinde derin bir iz bırakmış düşünürlerin başında gelir. Safa, Kemalist devrimin toplumu siyasal, ekonomik ve sosyal yönlerden köklü değişimlere tabii tuttuğu 1930’lu yıllarda, bu değişimlerin temelinde yatan felsefeyi anlamaya ve tanımlamaya dönük yoğun bir çaba içindedir. Safa’nın Kemalist devrime kendi bakış açısıyla bir anlam kazandırmaya çalıştığı bu süreçteki yaklaşımı düalist bir nitelikte gösterir. Peyami Safa, bir yandan Kemalist devrimin ulusu siyasal meşruluğun temeline yerleştirmesini ve bilimci bir metotla araştıran, sorgulayan ve eleştiren bireyler yetiştirmeye dönük aydınlanmacı niteliğini içtenlikle benimser diğer yandan da Kemalist devrimin varlık kazandırdığı bu yeni siyasal ve toplumsal yapının köklerini muhafazakâr bir kaygıyla tarihin derinliklerinde arar.

Peyami Safa is the leading philosopher who left great marks on Turkish idea. In 1930’s when Kemalist revolution changed the society radically in the political, economic and social aspects; Safa was in struggle for understanding and describing the philosophy that rested on the basis of those changes. His approach in this period, in which he tried to make sense of Kemalist revolution with his own point of view is dualist. Peyami Safa both sincerely adopted Kemalist revolution’s fitting the nation into the basis of political legitimacy and its enlightened quality for raising individuals that do research with a scientific method, question and criticise, and, in the depth of history, looked, with a conservative concern, for the roots of this new political and social structure that Kemalist revolution vivified.
