A 04-year-old boy exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with fluconazole, amphotericin-B-liposomal, sertraline and posaconazole for disseminated coccidioidomycosis. Additionally, he developed fever during treatment with interferon-gamma. He also received off-label treatment with dupilumab for disseminated coccidioidomycosis [not all routes stated].
The boy, who had fever and 3 weeks history of enlarging subcutaneous nodules on his forehead, presented to the hospital. He was eventually diagnosed with disseminated coccidioidomycosis (complement-fixation titers at a 1:32 dilution). Therefore, he started receiving fluconazole and amphotericin-B-liposomal [liposomal amphotericin-B; initiaJ dosage not stated]. Additionally, he underwent surgical debridement of the most prominent osseous lesions.
