THESE TALES, two of about fifty pages and three of thirty, are purportedly the stock-- in-trade of a ninety-six-year-old grandmother of ten children who was born in Venezuela but has lived on Corpus Christi (Trinidad) for most of her life: she narrates her stories (most with stories-- within-stories) for the edification of her grandson, Johnny.
Despite the title (and a jacket that features a seductive-looking young Caribbean girl), the tales are far from erotic, though one, about a reclusive, physically beautiful woman who undresses and bathes nude regularly,...
